Hennie Meyer (2005), Cape Town. Fine Art
Exhibitons annually in Ceramic Art, London
I have been working in clay for the past 20 years. I received my initial training in Australia as a production potter creating functional ware. After further study at the University of Stellenbosch, I became a ceramics and textile design teacher. I now run a ceramic studio in Cape Town producing richly decorated handbuilt pieces in earthenware. The works are inspired by the richness and dynamic diversity of Africa. I enjoy the challenge of making composite shapes, creating a balance to form an aesthetically pleasing vessel that combines humour and a recognisable signature style.
